STYLE: Which of These 10 Fabulous Pairs of Shoes Would You Actually Wear?

Since I am still in a post-Shopaholic fashion coma (but in a good way), I thought I'd pick out some fabulous shoes online and challenge you to pick a pair that you would actually wear in public! I'd wear two of them, the black patent leather pumps with the fuschia accent and the ones with the silver sequins. I like the patent leather Puccis, as well. And you? Which ones would you knock someone down in a sample sale for?

One of these pairs of shoes costs more than an average mortgage payment, yet there are women out there who will probably buy them (or men who will buy the shoes for them). What a crazy, sad, materialistic (but in a good way?) culture we live in...

If you're having a hard time viewing the shoes, please visit the actual blog: http://soakupliving.blogspot.com/2009/02/style-which-of-these-10-fabulous-pairs.html

MUSIC: Chris Brown Would Never Hit Elmo

I am very saddened by this Chris Brown scandal. We do not know all of the details yet and, admittedly, I haven't researched the situation all that thoroughly. But there is no excuse for domestic violence and my thoughts and prayers are with battered women everywhere this week.

As many of you probably are, too, I am having a difficult time not judging Chris Brown. So in the meantime, I am going to focus on the one great memory I have of him - watching his delightful performance singing and dancing with Elmo in this Sesame Street video.

My niece and I have watched this video dozens of times (I know the song by heart and might even be able to bust out a few of these dance moves) and it has brought her so much joy! She starts dancing during the first few beats of the song then entertains us with an adorable dance routine until it ends...

I don't know if it was just a career-boosting emotional play (a lot of musical artists perform child- and learning-friendly versions of their songs on Sesame Street, which I think is a great strategy for engaging parents), but either way, no one is 100% rotten and this video is certainly a high point of his career so far.

FOOD: How to Make Molten Chocolate Cake

My biggest vice is my frightening addiction to molten chocolate cake, or moelleux au chocolat, as it is called in Paris where I first fell in love with this extravagent, yet deceptively simple, dessert.

A perfectly-baked molten chocolate cake will tease you with a warm pool of chocolate erupting upwards from its center then great you with a gentle outpouring of rich and creamy milk chocolate after you remove the first spoonful.

I just found a video on YouTube that provides a very easy-to-follow recipe to make molten chocolate cake at home! (But note that many grocery stores also have really delicious frozen ones that you can microwave for 55 seconds if you don't have time to let the chocolate melt and prepare one from scratch.)
